The shawl for the Purépecha culture is part of their traditional clothing, these are distinguished by being decorated at the tips with feathers or by means of scratches.

The term rapacejo is designated to the complex and fine knotting, to the adaptation or crimping of colored threads that become an extension of the body of the shawl to form drawings of animals or vegetables, through the play of thread sizes, colors, combinations and cuts that form figures.
