Moon Mask

This mask's design represents an old man. Since prehispanic times, offerings and cermonies have been celebrated in honor of the Viejo Tata Jurhiata deity in order to receive a good harvest. This type of masks are often used in a ceremonial dance called "la danza de los viejitos" as a form of homage to the god.
