JIPIJAPA WEAVING / BECAL, CAMPECHE
The jipi is a kind of palm that is dehydrated in an oven to later be woven, for this it is necessary to transfer it to a humid environment.
The caves are recognized as the ideal sites for weaving, since the humidity they maintain prevents the palm from breaking and deteriorating, allowing it to be flexible and to obtain different shapes and figures.
This technique requires an impressive memory and manual dexterity since weavers do not need any kind of pattern or guide.

Our products are made in creative and productive collaboration with Mexican artisans. Their elaboration involves manual processes that generate variations in colors and textures. It is important to note that the actual color of the garment may vary from the color shown on the screen.
For products or variants that are available only on request (pre-order) we ask that 3 to 4 weeks of production be considered, in addition to the shipping time.
