Otomí embroidery is generated under a rigorous ritual of social documentation, because this embroidery is a tribute to the community and their most important traditions, such as harvest, planting, marriage, or birth. It is believed to have a magical and redemptive function with the earth and its inhabitants.
During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to get closer to the technique and origin of Tenango embroidery from the Otomí region with its two types of stitch, houndstooth and back stitch. They will also be able to learn about the Otomí culture and traditions and will be immersed in the combination and meaning of the projected colors, designing a personalized bag applying the knowledge of the workshop.

Our products are made in creative and productive collaboration with Mexican artisans. Their elaboration involves manual processes that generate variations in colors and textures. It is important to note that the actual color of the garment may vary from the color shown on the screen.
