Technique that has existed since pre-Hispanic times, consists of interlacing three or more groups of fibers or threads to make resistant and flexible ropes and cords.The hands of the artisans and the fibers are the only elements that are needed.
Formerly, fibers such as ixtle and henequen were used to create hammocks, ropes to move, pull loads and make constructions, with the passage of time this technique has been incorporated as a decorative element to clothing and the type of materials for its execution have increased.
